The Week of the Young Child 2014

Although at Prime Time we celebrate each and every day in the lives of the young children entrusted to us, April 6-10, 2014 marks the official Week of the Young Child™, an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), which is the world’s largest early childhood education association.

NAEYC first established the Week of the Young Child™ in 1971 to recognize that the early childhood years lay the foundation for children’s success in school and later life. The Week of the Young Child™ celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Week of the Young Child™. Yet, never before have the needs of young children and their families been more important. The central purpose remains unchanged—to promote the needs of young children, their families, and the early childhood programs that serve them.

Once again, this year, Prime Time recognizes that children’s opportunities to learn are our responsibilities, and that we join with others to see that each and every child experiences an environment that will promote their early learning. Please check on the activities planned at our Prime Time schools and join us in celebrating ……………
